serpentine belt 1998 Bonneville
Turn the tensioner counterclockwise using breaker bar, so you have good leverage, and remove the belt from the accessories. The front engine mount has three legs that connect to the front of the engine (on the passenger side of the car). You have to unscrew the lowest of the three mounting points done from the under side of the car - or - (with your wheels turned to the far right you can remove the plastic shield in the wheel well and with a long extension & breaker bar remove the lower mount bolt). There is a round tube spacer in between the engine block on this bolt of the engine mount that you take out, and you can remove and replace the belt with the spacer removed. It took me about 1 hr to change mine on my 98 Bonneville. If you go though the wheel well as I did you will need a couple of long extensions and a 18mm deep socket. Belt routing can be tricky remember to make a diagram or take a few pics before removing the belt.
