It is very easy!! It only has two bolts an one cable!! the only hting is that you need small hands and tools!!
- Get below the car.
- Untie the bolt
- Pop the hood, untie the other bolt.
- Unplug the cable.
- Do the same process in reverse with the new one.
- Be sure to check the torque, I don remember how tie does it has to be.

* Detach the negative battery cable * Clearly label then disconect the wires from the terminals on the starter motor and solenoid * Remove the mounting bolts and detach the starter
If you can't see it easily, on any car, try following the positive (hot) lead from the battery. It normally connects to the solenoid, which if not part of the starter, is very close.

No prob: Loosen the adjusterbolt, give the alternator a whack with a SOFT hammer towards the engine, remove the old belt mount the new one! I usally use the handle of the hammer as "lever" behind the alt. when tightening the new belt! Note: you should be able to move it 1cm. up and dowm!!! Starlet4life.dk
i have an 84 tercel with the same problem, it takes alittle gas to keep her goin but once warmed up it runs great, i fix a few small vacuum leaks and that helped alot but i still have the problem, let me know if you find the culprit
