Its not hard, i did it in my 76 d200.
Take the face of the dash out by removing the screws, there should be three separet pieces of dash plates, then unbolt the two bolts that hold the raiod in. Unplug the wires and antenna and take it out.
Go to an audio or electronics store and tell them what truck u have. They should give u a dash kit and wiring kit for the new stereo.
Follow the instructions with your deck and dash kit and install the system and dash again.

If the truck is a 4 wheel drive it would be easier to remove the engine to replace the flywheel. If the truck is a 2 wheel drive removing the transmission and bell housing is the way to go.

The truck did not come with a points style distributor. Someone installed the points type in the truck after it left the factory. The setting for all mopar V8's with points is .014-.018 thousands. I have found that they run best at .016
What make of truck? Ford used 2 fuel tanks, the front was 20 gallon capacity and the rear tank was 18 gallon. I am not sure of Chevy or Dodge, but I assume fuel capacity was similar
