I have the same problem with 1991, 4.0 l V6 engine. There are three 13 / 32 bolts holding the housing, but no access to one of them. Seems to me I will need to remove a spring loaded pulley to get the access. How do I go around it? As far as the rest of the models - you will need to get a copy of HAYNES manual for Aerostar. They cover it . Or do what a friend of mine was doing - go to a friendly store and ask for a copy of a page or two. In the end he bought the book anyway. Peter M

On a 1995 Ford Aerostar : If it is the 4.0L EFI V6 engine ( like my 1995 Ford EXPLORER ) it has an " O " ring for the thermostat , there is no gasket But , if it is the 3.0L V6 engine I believe a thermostat gasket is used
