Disconnect the battery 1st, so you don't short it out when you remove the cable from the alternator.

Then disconnect the 2 cables from the alternator. One has a connector that you squeeze to release, and the other has a 10mm nut under a little plastic gray cover.

Remove the long 14mm bolt that holds the alternator to the engine. Facing the engine it is on the left side and behind the alternator. Just loosen it for now, and remove it just before the alternator comes out.

Look on the front of the alternator, close to the radiator, there is a little 12mm bolt facing upward. This bolt is used to adjust the tension on the drive belt. You need to loosen it enough to get the belt off of the alternator pulley. But, before you loosen it, you need to remove the 12mm bolt under it facing perpendicular to the left.

As you loosen the adjustment bolt, also push down on the alternator. It will pivot down so that you can remove the belt.

The last step before you remove the alternator is removing the 14mm bolt that you loosened earlier.

Once the cables are off, the belt is off, the big 14mm bolt is out, and the 12mm bolt on the side of the belt tension adjuster is out, you can wiggle the alternator up and down while pulling it up and forward until it is free from the bracket.

To make the new alternator slide onto the bracket easier, you can apply a little grease or oil around the holes where the big 14mm bolt goes through. That way you can slide it on easy and wiggle it around a little to get the holes lined up so you can slide the bolt back in.

The rest is reverse of the removal. Make sure you put the plastic cover back on the cable nut and connect the batter last.

Make sure you tighten the belt up good, but not too tight. This is hard to explain, but if it squeals it is too loose, and if its too tight it can damage you're new alternator's bearing.
