Are there any steps on how to change the alternator on a 1198 ford contour?
visit www.contour.org
You go to a mechanic.
it the main belt on the side of the motor its on the right of the car
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_replace_side_mount_alternator_in_1998_Contour_GL"
loosen the serpretine belt tension and remove the two bolt that hold the alternator
It's built into the alternator. If it goes bad, unless you're pretty knowledgeable about such things, rather than try to take the alternator apart and fix it yourself I would recommend you replace the alternator.
none, its a ford contour, probably a 4cyl dont waste your time good luck bye
Yes, it shouldn't be a problem.
sounds like your alternator has a bearing going bad, which in turn stops alternator charging properly and doesnt complete electric circuit have alternator tested on your vehicle
First of all, there is no easy way. Secondly which 4cyl do you have? 2.0 Zetec, 2.0 Zetec VCT, or 2.0 SPI?
It is built into the Alternator
