The front speakers are accessed by removing the three screws on the door panel they Will have a round cover on them, so with a flat head screw driver pop them open which will give you access to a Phillips head. Right below the door handle there will be another screw which you will have to do the same thing as the other ones. Then the door panel will pull off which Will give you access to the speaker. I'm sorry but I would like to also know how to get to the back speakers. Jim
Cut it out and weld a new one in.
Simply raise the car and support the engine on a jack, then unbolt it.
Not sure which one yet till I start replacing them in my villager. But the two sizes that fit that model Would depend on where they are located in the vehicle. 5"x7" for both front and back of u got the side panel rear ones or 6"x8" front and back for standard tailgate speakers.
The distributor in a Mercury Villager is the round thing at the front of the engine with the six spark plug wires attached to it.
You will have to take out all of the parts to do this. Unless you have some experience with doing automechanics, it is a good idea to take it in.

Bottom front of engine.
It is on the front of the engine on the end of the crankshaft.
In front of the engine, down in the "V".
At the front of the motor attached to the engine cradle.
The front wiper arms on a 1997 Mercury Villager clip off once they are bent backwards. To install the new wipers simply slide them into the clip.
Which speakers are you trying to replace? Front or rear?
