Parking brake not fully released? Worn brake linings? Brake fluid in reservoir low (mabe a leak in system)? Bad sensor?
Either your handbrake switch is broken and will not turn off or you have low brake fluid.
check and see when your brake pedal is not pushed down if it is pushing the brake swith pin back in if so you need to replace the brake light swithch located behind the pedal

Worn brake pads can cause the brake light to blink on the dash in a 1993 GMC Sierra 1500. This can also be caused by a faulty light.
In order to replace the light, you need to open the trunk and pull back the panels to reveal the plastic wing nuts. Then, loosen the wing nuts and take out the whole lens. Then, replace the light bulb.
