Exact instructions vary depending on the bulb in question.
On the backside of the headlamp assembly you will see large plastic disc with fins sticking off of it. You need to grab this plastic disc in turn it counterclockwise to disengage the tabs and remove it. This can be fairly stiff due to the O-ring sticking on this cover plate. Once this is removed you will see the ball assembly that is held in with a steel spring clip. You have to push down on the one end of the spring clip and unhook from the latch and swivel it out-of-the-way. This will allow the bulb to be removed from the headlight assembly. Depending on your accessories and plastic shielding that you have not removed that is the hardest part of getting to the back of the headlights sometimes. Do not replace, it is a 4 hour job and it is wise to let them both go dead. It is a cruel joke that GM played on their loyal customers and was meant to drive up maintenance costs.

To replace a clutch at the Porsche dealer for a 2000 911 Carrera is 2960.60....at least that is what I paid in Nov. '07. Eek.
I have an older Sport Trac. If its the same, the screws are hidden in the bed of the truck. Pop off a cover and then remove the screws to the tail light. I just had to replace a bulb in '07...brake light out. Open the tailgate...the screws are right out in the open, just be very careful taking them out they can fall between the body of the truck and the bed liner...if possible use a magnetic tool.
