You need special tools for this job. The brakes and hub have to be removed to pull out the half shaft. Then the jointcan be changed. With air tools the job is around 1 to 1&1/2 hours each side.

YES Some were all wheel drive. Allthough both front & rear are limited slip, & the rear only if the front wheels are spinning.
Might just be the bearings in the front wheels. Check that. Also, a smart thing to check will be the water pump, if the pump is bad, makes it sound like the front main bearings in the engine are bad. And, hopefully there is nothing wrong with the engine. Good luck.
clean, replace e.g.r. valve, tune up or replace catalytic convertor.
Simply take the old ones loose with the clamps and put new ones on. You may want to replace the clamps .

If its just the cord, then follow the old cord to the back side of the engine ( really the side of the engine closest to the firewall ) and replace it. When the engine is cold, plug it in and you will hear the block heater heating up. If you don't hear anything, then replace the heater also. That requires a little more knowledge.
