In exhaust pipe before catalytic converter unscrew to replace
3.0 V6 (1999-2003): The starter motor is located behind the front exhaust pipe toward the driver's side of the oil filter. Are there pictures on removing it .
If you are refering to the stock exhaust system on a 2.4L 4g64 engine (same engine as the galant) then yes. It is a pipe with a flexible portion in the middle. I know this because my 99 spyder gs convertible just failed inspection for an exhaust leak there.
O2 sensors are usually on the exhaust manifold. Actually on the '96 Galant, one is in the header pipe (the pipe running below the engine between the manifold and the catalytic converter) and the other is in the catalytic converter.
Drop the header pipe and unbolt the oil pan and drop it.
It is in the trunk, under the cargo mat cover. It is bolted down and has a drain pipe. It is actually an Interstate battery if you ever need to replace it. Since it doesn't get the engine heat, it should last 5+ years.
towards the middle of thecar installed into the exhaust pipe
driver side look down the fire wall off center of the car on the the down pipe.
To replace the heater core in a 1999 Opel Astra, remove the center console and remove the 6 5.5 mm bolts. Also remove the clips and remove the cover and plastic clips on each pipe. Finally, lift the heater core and replace with new.
look under the car at the exhaust. from the front of the car, the pipe comes down from the motor the converter should come next. it is a wide flat piece the looks like a flat muffler.
It's cheapest to buy a universal pipe and weld it on yourself. The universal flex pipe part is Walker 42216. It goes for $25-$30. If you bring the pipe to a shop, the shop should charge you around $50-$80+tax in labor to remove the old pipe and weld the new flex pipe in.
unscrew it replace it, copper pipe coil easy to replace. Two pipe nuts about 3/8"
