If it is the v6, you might want to just get another car. But if you just have to know......
I would pull the engine and tranny together. Remove the radiator and fan assembly. Remove the ac compressor ...disconnect the wiring harness from fans, outdoor temp, driver's side fog light, tranny control and whatever else you see in the front. remove the wheels and pull the axles. remove hoses from the rack and pinion. undo exhaust manifold in the rear. disconnect o2 sensor.
Plan on replacing all of the motor mounts. Don't be disappointed, when you may have to replace lower control arms just to replace lower ball joints. Basically, you're looking at one full day of getting it out. Don't try to do the 95-97 swap into your car; eventhough, the 2.5 is a 2.5 with the exception of a few sensors. Replace the valve cover gaskets while it's out and maybe a tune up as well.
If someone tells you that they are a great mechanic and will do it for less than $600, expect to be looking for someone else to finish the job. The cloud series cars are good as long as they are running but Daimler spent too much time perfecting the art of putting a big engine a mid size car....
was wondering if someone can tell me how in detail to remove the tranny from my 1997 chrysler cirrus i need to replace the torque converter seal
It is inside the distributor. You have to replace the distributor to service the cam sensor.
check the size of the engine, if it is the same it will fit
5w30
You take it to a shop.
It is on the front of the engine, at oil pan height
It does not have a cabin filter from the factory.
Two.
You can not disconnect the check engine light.
Front of engine, behind the engine mount bracket.
According to the Gates website ( they make timing belts etc. ) the 2.4 liter - 4 cylinder engine in a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus ( IS NOT ) an interference engine
A 2000 Chrysler Cirrus does not have a cabin filter.
