For most GM truck brake light switches, look under the dash, directly above the brake pedal. Just pull the connectors and back off the screw or nut, whichever is used. Stupid GM has steering wheel brackets in the way-that is why they went bankrupt- stupid engineers& management
Most brake light switches have a threaded shaft on one end, through which the actuating plunger protrudes. The switch is mounted in a threaded bracket which allows the switch position, in relation to the brake pedal ARM, to be adjusted in or out.
The switch is normally open [current to the brake lights OFF] when the plunger is fully pushed INTO the switch by the retracted break pedal arm. With the brake pedal fully retracted, adjust the switch by loosening the locking nut, and screwing the switch outward, away from the brake pedal arm until the brake lights turn on.
It helps to have a helper watching the brake lights and keeping you informed of status while you adjust and test the operation. Then when brake light function is proved, screw the switch back in until the brake lights go out. Then add one quarter turn more, test by depressing the brake pedal again. If the lights turn on when the pedal is depressed, and off when released, the switch is properly adjusted, and to finish, hold the switch so it cannot move while the locking nut is tightened to secure the adjustment. j3h.
To replace the brake light switch on a 1995 Tahoe, first disconnect the battery and push the switch up at the ends towards the firewall. Slide the switch towards the passenger side. This will release the brake light switch from the actuator point.
there it a set screw on it that your bake hits, just turn that courtier clockwise about a turn in a half or more then check your lights with the brake down (on) and if that don't work then you just need to get a new relay which just plugs in
Remove the ignition switch retaining nut. Pull the ignition out. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the ignition barrel. Reverse the process to install the new ignition.
It is quite easy to install the 1992 Chevy Lumina brake light switch. The brake light switch simply plugs in and out.
I should be just above the brake pedal where the shaft of the pedal pushes up against the switch. It should be easy to adjust or replace
the brake light switch is on a bracket just above the brake pedal.
Tighten it up!!
The 1992 Chevrolet Suburban air conditioner compressor relay switch can be found in the fuse box. The air conditioning compressor relay switch will be labeled as such.
Normally this is an indication of a defective brake light switch.
Under the dash near the brake pedal lever.
if it isn't a fuse or lamp problem, check the brake lamp switch on the brake pedal, if you unplug the switch, and jumper the connection, and you have brake lamps, replace the switch...
The brake light switch is out of alligment. Check on the brake pedal arm and readjust the switch.
Switch is defective or out of adjustment.
It will be mounted to a pressure port on the service (foot) brake valve
adjust you dimmer switch
