Very simple to do.Clamp off bottom 3/4" hose which feeds the radiator. I use a rag and a needle nose vice grip.Remove retaining clip that holds this hose on overflow tank and pull off. There are two upper smaller hoses which can just be removed and put aside.Remove two bolts holding tank onto body and wiggle out tank....you will lose some residual antifreeze but make sure that the serpentine belt does not get contaminated otherwise it will squeal. There is a belt dressing spray available, but this does not always work to eliminate the squeal.Installation is the reverse.(Always remember to let engine cool down first).A new tank costs approximately $100.00 at the dealer. You can get them from a wrecking yard for a lot cheaper.....if you can find one that doesn't already leak (common problem with the Taurus). The wrecking yard will NOT guarantee a leak-free one....it's a chance to have to take.
The hose that goes from the overflow to the bottom of the radiator on a 2002 Windstar is the bypass hose. It allows coolant from the overflow to return to the radiator as it cools.
Its on the overflow tank.

thermostat on a ford 2002
where is the speed control senor located on a 2002 ford taurus
It is located on top of a plastic recovery tank located by the side of the radiator. The radiator itself won't have one.
How much does it cost to replace a radiator in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am
You fill it to the bottom of the radiator cap, and to the full mark of the overflow bottle.
most engines have it on the radiator, some newer cars have it on engine. but i think yours is just in the overflow tank
For a 2002 Ford Taurus : The thread on cap on the engine coolant reservoir is the pressure cap / radiator cap ( I believe the Motorcraft part number is RS-103 ) it's a 16 PSI cap
To replace the thermostat on a 2002 Cavalier 22 Ecotec, drain the radiator and remove the upper hose assembly. Replace the thermostat and refill the radiator.
The radiator doesn't have a cap. The overflow reservoir tank has a cap instead. (Tan plastic tank on passenger side)
