If you have to ask this question, you may want to take it to a shop! It if fairly simple and requires the removal of the purge tank on pasenger side in engine compartment so access to the compressor is eaiser! Then just loosen the belt tensioner located near the compressor! Unbolt compressor from block and remove the cap where two lines are atteched. Make sure you add oil to the new compressor. Also replace dryer located behind headlight on same side. Reattach all and pump out the lines then refill and cool off!
replace the whole thing. you can do a new one or get one from a junk yard
There is a special tool that will pull the clutch assembly off of the compressor, available at your local parts store!
already answered under 2000 kia sportage.
you usually replace the entire compressor. Before doing that make sure your low pressure switch isn't faulty.
It's an automatic, there is no clutch.
You cannot change the compressor bearing, however, you can change the clutch bearing. Which one is bad? Is there a noise when the clutch is engaged, or not engaged?
You have a cycling clutch compressor. Turn the AC on max, let the car for five minutes or so, go look at the compressor. You should see the clutch engaging and disengaging the compressor as the pressure builds and drops.
For safety, a machanic man will do that job for your Kia.
To replace a clutch at the Porsche dealer for a 2000 911 Carrera is 2960.60....at least that is what I paid in Nov. '07. Eek.
