Replacement of the harmonic balancer is most conveniently done with the engine out of the car.
1. Release the belt tensioner and remove the serpentine belt. Take note of its routing.
2. Remove the bolt from the center of the balancer.
3. Use an appropriate puller to remove the balancer from the crankshaft.
4, Use the center bolt to pull the replacement balancer onto the crankshaft. Replace the serpentine belt.
