To remove the center consol. First remove the radio. (flip up tabs at the sides, undo the screws - think this is a trox screw - the pull the radio forwards and out.) Now unclip/prise off the gearstick gator from the dash board (has 3 tabs, two top and one bottom). This should review the 2 screws next to the grear stick that hold on the center pannel. Remove those screws then unclip the pannel form the bottom first then form the top. It should now come away freely giving access the the wiring behind. Remove the faulty bulb and take it to your local auto parts shop and say "Can I have one of these please." Probably cost you about �1.
Refit is reverse of removal

The alternator needs attention or replace
It depends usually, but they price around about 15 grand
Locate the bulb holder under the bonnet, then turn the bulb by about a quarter and pull out. Replace with the same bulb (W5W 12V)
You can replace the balls in the heater control panel on an XS ARA Picasso by removing the front cover of the heater control panel. The panel lights will then be visible.
You may well need to replace the small bulbs/lamps behind the dash.
License plate like bulb, on a Citrogen Picasso, can be changed by pushing the bulb in and turning at the same time. The bulb will come out. Insert the new bulb.

There is a switch behind the brake pedal. Fairly easy to replace, or a 10 minute job at a garage.
Prise off internal plastic trim and undo 3 screws. Disconnect electrical connection. Reverse to replace.
