the 1997 camaro doe's not have a fan belt it has a serpentine belt that you can change in about 5 min.
I think the best thing to do is go to a professional.
Possibly an internal short on the fan itself, try replacing the fan.
There is no fan belt it is all electric at least for 97 and later models.
100k
It does not have a timing belt. It uses a chain.
The 97 Chevy Suburban doesn't have a timing belt.
How do I remove the female seat belt assembly on a 97 ford exploer?
7 inch
90,000km. If you do not replace the belt and the old one snaps, your valves can hit the pistons. Expensive fix.
You cant replace it, it's all in one piece.
Loosen the component slide it towards the engine to lossen the belt, remove belt. Install in reverse. If the fan is your problem it is held on with 4 small bolts, remove them and the fan. P/S you should be able to work the belt around the fan blades without removing the fan. On_mitch

It's inside the alternator, if yours is bad replace the alternator or tear the alternator apart and replace the regulator.
coolant temp sensor, wiring, relay, bad fan motor
There is no timing belt, it's a chain and an engine out job to replace.
Replace the fan clutch that is on the front of the engine.
....2 ways to replace the best. There is a pictogram on the engine cover; passenger side. On the box containing the new belt there will a diagram for your vehicle.
Yes
The V6 in the 1997 Camaro was the 3.8, not the 3.4
As I understand, yes. Also, the timing belt and the pump have the same expected life so you will probably want to replace both.
Only the 4 cylinder has a timing belt. On a 1983-97 replace it at 60,000 miles=On a 1998 up, replace at 120,000 miles.=
caprice was not built in 97..
Interval is - 100000 kms On the 1996-97 replace it every 60,000 miles. On the 1998-2000 replace it every 90,000 miles. Also replace the water pump which is driven by the cam belt. This is NOT an interference engine.
