It should be on left(driver) side of the frame well in front of the gas tank. It will be under pressure. I've heard some say to open the gas cap and let it sit for 30 minutes or so to let some of the pressure equalize. The filter has quick clip safety connectors at each end. Clean off both ends so no crud gets in open lines. Remove the safety clips and pull off hoses. have rags and/or bucket to catch any gas coming out(it will drian some, but not that much) Put new one and reverse the process. Start and look for leaks.

Are you referring to a 200 model Metro? If so, there is no fuel filter to replace. 1998-2000 Metros have a fuel strainer in the tank. I have a 1999 Metro 3-cylinder and learned this over the summer when contacting the Chevrolet dealer. Are you referring to a 200 model Metro?
