Simple job.As you know it's at the rear of the car,so you can't miss it.One end is a nut on the fuel line mine was seized so luckily if it is you just put a wrench on each nut and since the other end is a press in fitting so it can spin it let's you break it free so it can be removed.Hopefully your's is not the original metalclip idea from GM as mine was it has to be broken from the tube that comes out of the filter into the steel elbow. Then you must pry out the broken tube & clip.Your new fuel filter comes with a plastic clip that goes onto your filter & into the elbow & acts as a quick release joint. It's a major pain to get the tube & clip out but once it's out you try the quick release & your wondering why GM couldn't do this from the factory.I'm a 1997 cavalier z24 new owner & I've done these tedious jobs.Hope my tales help in your situation.

How do you remove and replace wiper switch on 2002 Chevy Cavalier
Replace the fuel filter, that is a good place to start.
There is a special tool used for the quick connect type of filter. It is available at any local parts store. It is used to compress the tabs at one end of the filter. After learning the hard way, don't attempt to use pliers.
No.
The Chevy Cavalier does have a fresh air intake filter. The fresh air intake filter is located behind the passenger side kick plate.
