Most fuel injected cars have a high pressure fuel pump located in the gas tank. The pump for your vehicle cost about $300. To install try to get as much gas out of the tank as possible. Remove and replace the fuel filter. Be careful since pressure will remain in the fuel linesm and will squirt out. After the fuel filter is replaced, jack up the vehicle as high as you possibly can and place on jack stands. There is a large gas fil hose that has to be removed from the tank. Next there is a plastic shield around the tank, remove the plastic rivits and pull downward to remove the shild and clips drom gas tank. Place a floor jack under the tank and raise the jack until it contacts the fuel tank. Remove the two nuts securing the tank to the body of the vehicle. Slowly release the jack holding the tank. Once the fuel lines are exposed, remove the three fuel lines, and lower the tank. Slide the tank out from beneath the vehicle. Onthe top of the tank is a snap ring that holds the fuel pump assembly in place. As you remove the pump look at how it comes out, this will be the same way you install the new one. The new pump will come with the gas gage sending united attached. Assemble in reverse order.
