If the truck is fuel injected, the fuel pump is in the gas tank. The easiest thing to do is unbolt the bed of the truck where it meets the cab. (You can also use a jack to lift the back of the truck up off the ground and drop the gas tank that way.) Once you have access to the gas tank, you simply remove the old pump and install the new. You are lucky, on a pickup it is really not a bad job because you just have to lift the bed instead of jacking the thing up and working on your stomach. It will be harder if you have a full tank of gas and I would get a buddy to help. GL... My 1993 Dakota Fuel Pump was about $180 at Advanced it seems, but that was 5 years ago.
You will have to drop the fuel tank to replace it.
The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank on a 1995 Sonoma.

Can you open back seat and look fuel pump then replace fuel pump easy job. Wendell
I really doubt it b/c the the pump lies within the whole fuel assembly. Really $$$
Easy way, is to pull bumper and unbolt bed than slide back out of the way. Fuel tank is then very easy to work on no reason to have to drop tank.
