How do you replace the license plate bulb on 2006 Hyundai Sonata?

You will need two very small flat head screw driver, and a medium size flat head. Take the medium size flat head and carefully move or pry off the lens above the license plate, then look at the corners (hard to see) but there are metal spring like things that has to be moved, in order for the lense to drop down. carefull not to break them off, i broke one of mine. While carefully pushing one side down, use the small screw driver and push in the metal, and the whole thing will fall, don't worry it wont break because the wiring harness holds it. then carefully twist the knob counter clockwise that holds the bulb, and the it will come out.its hard to see those metals on the side, it took me 30 minutes to figure this out, i searched the net but couldn't find anyone who did it already. Hopes this helps you.I read the above but found a different way to do this task.Remove the trunk liner above. That is 13 screws and 1 in the handle. Next remove the black clasps that the screws came out of. You can back the screws halfway out and remove the entire thing if you wish. Depending on which light you may need to remove the emergency release handle. Otherwise, twist the knob counterclockwise to remove it and replace the bulb. It has a thick rubber o-ring which is why it will be hard to twist I used some vice grips to get better leverage to remove it but remember the knob is plastic.
