If its bank 1 sensor 1. Remove air box cover & hose then the heat shield. Look down on the left of your engine slightly back to your exhaust manifold. You will see it protrudind to the left with wires coming from the back. It might catch your attention just by looking like a odd standout in the area its in. Small tubular structure looks generally like a 7/8 long drive socket stuck in with wires hanging out. Thats exactly what your going to use to remove it. It is fairly easy to access & you will have a little work room its not in a horrible tight spot. They make a special o2 removal socket you buy or however at most auto parts stores you can now rent a tool. I personally wouldnt buy this tool for a couple of reasons, just priced 8/31/12 at $25 for a specialty tool just for this job its simply not worth it, i dont plan to replace emough of these to make my money back. I rented the tool at AutoZoneAutoZone with a $25 deposit & when i returned it i got every penny back & that my friend was the tool for as long as i needed it for FREE. Lastly, many o2 sensors are seized. Mine was so bad personally even with heating over a hour, proper tools, pb blaster, and a breaker bar the o2 socket still stripped my o2 sensor. Now i am at the mercy of the vice grips and some great advice from som hardcore mechanics that deal with this problem regularly to special order anti seize from kano Labs. I have been told if anything can bust this corrosion, rust, and seized part lose this is it. However back to the sensor. You do not have to rent or buy the socket if your willing to chop the wires off your o2 sensor so a standard 7/8 will fit over it. Keep in mind that its very common regardless of the tools you have & how perfect they ate for the job this thing may just not bust lose and you may have to resort toheating till bright red with a blow torch & trying, vice grips with some new anti seize compound such as myself or possibly still seeking some professional help. I will say once you un plug the connections o2 sensors connections and are able to remove it the new one installs simply you basically screw it in tighten the sensor in place & connect the plugs right where you took the old ones off. If it weren't for the removal part this is a fairly simple self explanatory down to earth job, but s I'm sure your aware nothing in care repair can be that easy.
