For my '01, I removed the associated cover/panel using a Torx T47 bit (to remove the seatbelt bracket) and a Phillips screwdriver. Disconnect the electrical plug ans, using an 8mm socket, remove the motor for the body. The swivel arm has a spring clip that disconnects the motor from the window.
I had the same problem in a '96 with both windows. The problem was the switch, you can open and clean the contacts with sand paper or replacing the switch.

The motor could be burnt out on the window. This is more than likely what has happened. The motor can be replace for a low cost.

Depending what year your windstar is, it may have rivets holding the window to the motor. You have to drill them out to detach the window. I removed the motor and regulator and pulled the window up and propped it with wood until my motor came in. Now they have the motor/regulator combo aftermarket at Autozone for $69.

well iam a retard you have take off the door panel to get to the motor but to replace the window switch get a flathead sd and stick it under the front of the switch holder and lift up
