It very much depends on the car. They often just pop out from under a cover. While some are individual bulbs that can be popped out or desoldered, others are a strip of LEDs and should be changed as a unit. A Haynes or Climer manual will show the way.

I know it will feel like you're going to break it, but if you firmly pull, it comes off. Replace bulb and snap it back on.

The led light in the window switch is not replaceable. It is only serviced with the entire switch.
To replace a light bulb, you have to: if its in the front, you have to open up the hood and look for the screws that are connected to the lights. For the back, you have to: open the trunk, and unscrew the light bulb, open it up and replace it.
Pop the cover off by pulling at the corners away from the window, pull the tabs on the light shield, and replace the bulb with a 912 light bulb.
Push housing staight toward rear window. Pull up on housing and then slide back towards you.
In the top of the trunk near where the brake light is located, there is a small plastic window, remove it and you access the light bulb.
Remove your 1998 Honda rear window brake light cover. Push the light bald in and turn at the same time. The light bulb will come out. Reverse the process to install the new light bulb.
Unscrew the lens, replace the bulb, and put the lens back on.
expose back of bulb, turn to the left, replace bulb, return to socket, turn to the right
If you can't get to the back of the light through the trunk, you have to remove the light to change the bulb from the rear.
