drain out coolant to a point were hose is clear, remove hose then replace, add coolant to bring up to normal level...will loose a bit of coolant but not much!!
Remove the air intake runner at the throttle body. Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine hose neck. Behind the hose neck is the sensor. Remove the plug (wires) and unscrew the sensor. Replace with new sensor, if you're quick you'll lose minimal coolant. Replace the plug to the sensor. Reassemble the air intake runner. Start the engine , let it warm to operating temperature and check for leaks. Top up coolant as required.
Disconnect the battery, remove the air hose to the throttle body, remove the access plate, remove the spark plug cables and the boots, and remove the spark plugs. Replace the spark plugs, replace the boots and cables, replace the access plate, attach the air hose to the throttle body and connect the battery.
Check the black hose between the throttle body and intake manifold.Check the black hose between the throttle body and intake manifold.
That depends which "coolant" hoses you are referring to. Besides the two main coolant hoses to the radiator, there is a crossover pipe under the radiator, a bypass hose at the thermostat housing, two heater hose assemblies, and two small hoses to the throttle body.
The throttle body is on the top of the engine. It is where the hose from the air filter box connects to.
1. Drain the coolant by opening the drain cock or removing the lower radiator hose. Remove the lid to speed up process 2. Remove the throttle body ccover on turbo cars 3. Remove the bypass hose and the pressure pipe between the Intercooler and the throttle body on turbo cars 4. Rempve the screw that holds the coolant pipe to the water pump 5. Remove the screw that holds the coolant pipe in the front left of the engine 6. Remove the hose to the throttle body pre-heater 7. Remove the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat 8. It is located at the throttle body on the end of the throttle shaft. The throttle body is on the intake manifold, the hose from the air filter ends up at the throttle body.
The PCV valve is located inline in a hose between the valve cover and throttle body. Make sure to check the hose and replace if cracks are found.
Begin by removing the bottom radiator hose. Allow the old coolant to drain out. Replace the hose to its original position. Fill the radiator with new coolant.
Under the throttle body. Facing front of the van follow the radiator hose on the right side of the radiator to the engine. Where that stops is your water neck inside is the thermostat. Most of the 3400's and 3100's have coolant lines running into everything. There is 2 small coolant lines running into the throttle body. They will be kind of a pain to get off.
No PCV valve on this engine. Has "PCV system". Hose from valve cover to throttle body. Nothing to replace.
