It is the spin on style filter inside the transmission pan.It is the spin on style filter inside the transmission pan.
If this vehicle has a transmission cooler then it will have one line to the cooler then another for the return line to the transmission.
Front ¼" Pipe Cooler feed/out Rear ¼" Pipe Return/in
Return is the one that connects to the rear of the transmission.Return is the one that connects to the rear of the transmission.
The front fitting on the transmission is the hot pressured oil going to the oil cooler, the rear one is the return.
Pressure and return lines that goto radiator and or transmission cooler to keep the ATF chilled off.
The transmission cooler lines are located coming from the radiator on the bottom. One is for the sending and the other for return. The lines are high pressure, just as your radiator hoses are when the car is running. The lines go from the radiator to the top of the transmission.
To change the return filter on a 2003 Chevy Silverado is easy. Simply open the hood of your car and gently remove the filter and replace with new filter. that it!
Yes, pressure and return cooler lines.
It should not matter as one is pressure and the other is return from the transmission oil cooler.
First of all, I'd recommend you to buy the correct transmission oil from the dealer. Dropping the transmission pan can only change a small portion of the automatic transmission fluid (ATF), because most of the fluid is in the Torque Converter. Unless you are also changing the filter, I'd recommend you to do the flush through the transmission cooler line. 1) Find the transmission cooler return hose (on my 08 Fusion, if you sit on the driver's seat, it is the one that is leftmost). 2) Disconnect the cooler return hose from the transmission end. 3) Put the hose into a container with graduated scales. 4) Start the engine (to idle only to avoid damage), when you see 3 Qt of ATF flows out, turn off the engine. 5) Fill 3 Qts of ATF through the transmission oil stick. 6) repeat 3) and 4) three times 7) reconnect the cooler return line 8) fill transmission fluid to the required level (be aware, when you check the transmission fluid, the engine should be running, and you should let the Stick lever go through all the gears beforehand).
Connected to the bottom of the radiator you will see 2 lines. One is the inlet and one is the outlet. The cooler line is the return (outlet) line.
