I would not even try this if your unsure at all. I did it to my 1990 firebird, and on most cars they are not that bad, but for the firebird you have to take apart the the steering column. unhook the battery if you have an airbag. remove the airbag, remove the steering wheel, and then there is a whole lot of stuff you have to remove to get to the turn signal swith, which is not easy to get off or put back on. And I did this at the shop with all the fancy tools and everything too, and it still was difficult.
To replace a turn signal on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee prop the hood open. Locate the headlight housing and the turn signal will be located next to it. Find the bulb and remove it from the housing. Replace the bulb.
Open the tub of the turn signal housing and uncrew the 2 scews holding it and pull out the whole housing .

Pull steering wheel, remove steering plate to access turn signal switch. There are two swings as you look down at switch that should be broken. Your Cam spring is broken. best to replace turn signal switch
A turn signal that doesn't shut off when you straighten your wheel means the trigger inside is probably broken. To repair it you will probably need to replace your turn signal switch
You will have to remove the turn signal housing assembly, then turn it upside down and shake it till the remains of the old bub fall out. hope this helps
Slide under bumper, you'll see the wire harness, disconnect wire harness / bulb housing from the signal glass housing with a 1/4 counter clockwise turn, replace bulb ( 3157 i believe ) re-install
