If you go to advance auto, or auto zone and purchase a haynes manual for 10 to 20 dollars, it will describe in detail (including pictures) of this repair, and many more for this automobile.

OR, you could just post an actual answer on this site instead of a plug for a book we already know about, so we don't have to go spend $10-$20 on a manual just for one job. Might I suggest that either the leak was/is not at the timing cover gasket, or maybe something went wrong on the gasket install?

the 2.2 engine of 1998 and up don't have PVCAnswerI recently replaced a valve cover gasket on a 98 sunfire, and was looking for the pcv valve. I could not find, even looking in a chilton manual. Eventually I called GM, and that is when I found out they are built in to the valve cover there is nothing to replace. The Elbow that comes out of the top of the valve cover hooks right into the air box. That is what I originally thought was the PVC.
