The washer pump is located on the bottom of the washer reservoir on the pasenger side front fender in front of the front wheel. You will need to remove the battery and reach down under the reservoir. Turn the pump 1/4 turn and pull down. A hose will be attached and an electrical conector. Simply swap the hoses and conector to the new pump and re-assmeble. Forgot to mention that all your fluid in the container will now be on the ground unless you drained it first. Hope this helps. "G"

CORRECTION!!! Actually removing the battery will not do any good as it does not come out that way! You may need to take off the tire on the drivers side... (but I did it without removing the tire... I just turn the wheels to the left to remobe partialy the inner fender then cramp the wheels on the right to have some space to push the inner fender away...) Unscrew and pull back the inner fender and you can get at it from there. (Note that being a lefthander will help...)

Remember to disconnect the electrical connection first and move it out of the way. First tip : Do have a bucket handy cause all the juice will spill out on the floor other wise... (On my 1999 Grand Prix, this second tip was not necessary, because there was a 90 degreees elbow that helped to disconnect and reconnect the pump) Also another tip take a lighter or a small heat gun and gently heat the plastic hose but DO NOT MELT IT !!! if you heat it up a little bit, it should slide off easier AGAIN DO NOT HEAT IT TO MUCH THAT IT STARTS TO MELT!!!

If that should happen just cut it. There should be enough hose to be able to cut and reconnect it to the new pump. Hope this helps you !

FOR THE 2003 GTP:

Tools needed:

-drain pan or bucket

-small metric ratchet set with extension (6, 8 and 10mm)

What to do:

-Turn wheels as far right as you can go.

-Remove wheel splash guard retention screws and retention nut (Deep inside fender well - passenger compartment side. There's also a splash guard retention screw up high, hidden forward of the splash guard up top and inside.) on the passenger side fender well.

-Remove the splash guard.

-Looking inside the fender well, to the right and forward of the tire you'll see the windshield fluid reservoir. The pump motor is on the bottom. It has a feed hose attached to it (on the bottom of the pump) and a power connection (on the top of the pump).

-Disconnect the power feed to the pump motor. Gently use your finger to release the pressure clip and pull up on the harness assembly (not the wires) and move it out of the way.

-Position your drain pan or bucket under the reservoir pump and gently pull the washer fluid feed hose off the pump motor and tuck it up out of the way. Let the fluid drain. Keep the bucket in place for the time being.

-Firmly grasp the pump motor and tip it toward the fender well (right side) and wiggle/pull the motor up and out. Let the remaining portion of the fluid drain out and place bucket or drain pan off to the side.

-With your new pump motor, you should have a new rubber grommet that came with it to seat your new motor. Pull the old grommet out of the reservoir and replace it with the new one.

-Take the new motor and push the draw side of the motor through the new grommet in the reservoir tank base and ensure the top retention stem is seated properly in the tanks molded slot (power connection should be facing the fender side of the car.

-Many of the new aftermarket pumps bases can be spun around for connectivity purposes; the feed spout should be facing towards the rear of the vehicle.

-Connect the fluid feed hose to the pump feed spout. Fully seat the hose up to the pump body and reconnect the power connection to the pump motor ensuring connection is fully seated in the female socket.

-Refill the reservoir and check for leaks.

-Function check the new pump motor: using several short bursts, prime the new pump and lines. Once you see fluid on your windshield, your safe to fully actuate the pump and do a test cleaning.

-If the pump still isn't working, check your power connection at the pump and wires to the connector. Also don't forget to check your fuses and as silly as this sounds, make sure you put the new pump in and not the old one.

-Reposition fender well wheel splash guard and securely screw it back into place. If you've broken any clips replace them and use new screws to secure the guard in place.

***Using a lift, the job should only take you 20 minutes. On the ground in your driveway, it'll probably take 45 minutes to an hour. Either way, doing it yourself you've saved about $100.00 in labor. The pump shouldn't cost you more than $20.00 and is a common stock aftermarket item.***
