First, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery then place down a drain pan and open the drain valve on the bottom of the radiator. Remove radiator cap from coolant reservoir, allowing the coolant to drain completely. Then remove the serpentine belt. Disconnect and remove the electrical connector from the alternator, then remove the alternator as well. Remove the water pump pulley bolts and mounting bolts, then use a screwdriver to pry the pump itself from the front of the motor. Thoroughly clean the gasket surface on the engine. Next, attach a new gasket to the new water pump with a gasket adhesive, and place the new pump. Reinstall the water pump pulley, alternator, and serpentine belt. Close the drain valve beneath the radiator and refill the engine with a 50/50 mix of fresh coolant. Vent air by removing the bleed valve at the top of the thermostat, then replace. Fill the reservoir to the full level, and reinstall radiator cap.
