First plan to cuss a lot if you are doing this at home in your garage. You will need a tie rod joint separator or a big ol' ballpeen hammer and a large screwdriver... I suggest you invest in the tool, it only costs a couple of bucks and will save you much aggrevation! Make sure the car is safe after jacking it up (use jack stands and wheel chocks). Take note of where the tie rod ends are in relation to the rod itself. If possible, mark the rod before you remove it to indicate where you will want to screw the new end up to. After loosening the nut, gently tap the tool in the rod end to losten it from the bushing. Take the nuts off, screw the new tie rod ends on up to your marked point and then replace to the proper torque settings... you do have a torque wrench don't you? Don't forget about the cotter pins, they will need to be replaced. You will need to have the car realligned no matter what so count on that cost. If you do it mostly right you should still be able to drive it to your allignement station. If not, be prepared for a towing cost! GOOD LUCK!
