The 2.7 liter V6 has a timing BELT and The 3.3 liter V6 has a timing CHAIN
No , both the 2.4 liter four cylinder engine and the 2.7 liter V6 engines in a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe use a timing BELT ( there will be a " plastic " cover over the timing belt )
If you have the 3.3 V6 engine it doesn't use a timing belt. It has a chain which requires no maintenance.
i changed timing belt and timing chine but my car know need good fix and not start very well, please help me
it has a timing belt
timing BELT
belt
There is a timing belt. Also that belt is recommended to be replaced every 60,000 miles.
The Hyundai Santa Fe's use a timing belt engine set up. The maintenance interval is 60,000 mi. You should change your timing belt and water pump every 60K to prevent a water pump failure.
The Gates website ( they make timing belts etc. ) shows ( 60,000 miles ) and that the 2.7 liter is an interference engine
its a belt and my dealer couldn't tell me when it needs to be changed, so off to another dealer who said its at 100,000miles but get the tension units changed.
