first you should do electrical tests to see if switch is the problem. Have you checked fuses? The switch can be removed by placing a small flat headed screwdriver into the side of switch. There is a retaining clip on both sides. Push in with the screwdriver and pull out. The switch should come out easily. With key in off position, place the flathead screwdriver between the switch and back plate and switch will pop off.

In order to replace the electric window motors on a Pontiac Grand Prix you will need to unscrew the Torx screws on the door, life it back to remove the plastic pieces. Remove all connectors, and the plastic covers.
Need a little more info on what your trying to replace. Is it the switch in the dash? It's in the overhead console.
On my 2001 it is part of the Hazard switch. You have to replace the entire switch on a 2001.
remove the six screws (three on each side) pull the sunroof out and then try to close the window using the switch. If it closes you can replace the window and replace the screws.
