They are the small electric motors that raise and lower automobile windows in vehicles with electric window controls.
How do yo fix a stuck driver side electric window on a 1998 pontiac firebird.
To fix an electric window that goes up crooked on a 2000 Pontiac Montana, first, remove the door panel to access the window mechanism. Check for any loose or damaged window tracks, guides, or the window regulator itself. Tighten any loose bolts and adjust the alignment of the window within the tracks. If necessary, replace any broken components to ensure smooth operation. Reassemble the door panel once the issue is resolved.
There are magnets found in most electric motors which are throughout your car eg electric window motors. They are also in your alternator. I assume that they are also used in the needles on your dashboard too.
You will have to replace the regulator assembly.
There was a recall on the windshield wiper motors. Check with your locate dealer and they may replace it for FREE!!!!
If they are losing strenght, first try spraying silicone lube into the rubber weatherstrips where the window rides. A lot of times they become dry causing the windows to stick. If this does not help, unfurtunely you will have to replace the window motors. I have done many of these
replace the power window motor inside the door. You will have to drill out the rivets and replace with nuts and bolts
Sure wish there was an answer to this one.
Hey Erin==Check the wiring first. I don't know of anytime where all 4 motors would go out at the same time. TAke the trim panels off and take the motors out. The linkage is under spring preasure and there are sharp edges inside the doors so be very careful. GoodluckJoe
The exact cost to replace an electric window motor varies slightly by the model of car. As of 2014, the average cost for this motor is between 35 and 55 dollars.
Go to the auto parts store and buy the Haynes or Chilton tear down guide for that model. If you're a do it your selfer with a car that old you need one.
