I would recommend that you go to a store which specialises in auto parts and buy the Chilton's manual for your vehicle, especially if you plan on taking a DIY approach to maintaining your vehicle. They are very detailed, and also include lots of photos to help show you how it's done while it's being explained to you. Everything you need will be found in that book.

How do you change the windshield washer pump on a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am
The windshield washer pump is attached to the washer fluid reservoir. You will find 2 pumps attached to the reservoir. The other pump feeds the rear window. The reservoir can be unbolted and removed from the engine compartment.
The reservoir is located right behind the front fender on the driver's side. Remove the wheel well liner and then remove the screws from the fender. Unscrew and remove the windshield washer reservoir. Replace it with the new one and repeat the steps in reverse.
Remove head light, tire, inner liner of fender & than good luck.
Most vehicles have them just below if not attached to the bottom of the tank. You will have to remove the tank to see it.
The washer fluid for the rear liftgate is supplied by the same reservoir as the front windshield , located in the engine compartment
It is attached to the bottom of the washer fluid reservoir.

The pump is attached to the bottom of the washer fluid bottle.
