After some extensive research on ls1gto.com and a few other sources, you cannot reprogram a 2004-2006 GTO Key. You must purchase a new fob, you can get them from Gene @ GMPartsHouse.com for a cheaper price. There are people who claim fobs can be reprogrammed, but I have never seen it documented or proven or a process of how to. I also own the factory service manuals (size of two phone books) and it states the FOB must be replaced. Good luck! Once you get your new FOB, there is a procedure you can find on ls1gto.com if you search for it.
No
what answer!
I may not be right but try holding down your lock button until the doors lock?
You normally do not have to reprogram the key when you replace the battery. If you do you will have to contact your VW dealer.
You'll probably need to have this done at a dealership.
2006 jetta tdi both key remote not working
the bastards at the dealership have to do it...had it done, not cheap.
Take it to your dealership they would be the one to help you with that.
your key fob can only be programed by the local gm dealer.
It can cost as much as about 300 dollars to re-key the average car. This varies depending on the type of ignition and the type of key.
In my 2004 Pontiac GTO, I had that problem. I took it to the dealer and they cleaned out the ignition with some lock cleaner that you can purchase at home depot and they also cleaned the key .
Changing the battery in the key fob to a Pontiac Solstice is pretty simple. Just remove the back of the key fob, and take out the old battery. It takes a hearing aid battery, and they can be found at any chain pharmacy. Put in the new battery and replace the back to the key fob. It is now ready to go!
