It is the black plastic looking thing on the top center of the engine. They give alot of problems by wearing through and leaking water into the engine. <--- on a 3.8 but a 2001 century does not have this engine in it!

On a 2006 Buick Lucerne with a V8 engine, the thermostat is located in the engine's coolant outlet housing. It can be found at the front of the engine, where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine block. Accessing it typically requires removing the upper radiator hose and the housing itself to replace the thermostat. Make sure to allow the engine to cool before attempting any maintenance.
To remove the radiator on a 2003 Buick Century, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the coolant by opening the radiator petcock and removing the lower radiator hose. Disconnect the upper radiator hose, remove any mounting brackets, and detach the transmission cooler lines if applicable. Finally, lift the radiator out of the engine bay, taking care not to damage surrounding components.
