Yes, you can have a car alarm without remote keyless entry. You can read more at www.ecarsecurity.com or www.autotechs.com
You can get the new keyless entry remotes at any chrysler/dodge dealer, but they also have to be reprogrammed to your specific vehicle by a chrysler/dodge dealer as well. Last quote I got was $65 per keyless entry pad. Hope this answer helps.
To disable the factory alarm system on a Ford Ranger, you would have to disconnect the remote entry module (REM). However, if you do that, the keyless remote and driver's door keypad will no longer work.
Each vehicle with keyless entry has its own factory code
It could.
You can't program the keyless entry remote for the Dodge 2500 yourself. You have to have it done at a Dodge Dealership. The cost is around $75.
I bought a 1997 dodge ram 1500 larmie and the seller lost the keyless enrty. who do i get a new keyless entry? will i have to reprogram/replace anything on the truck
No , each vehicle has it's own factory keyless entry code
Yes, some of the 1996 Dodge 1500s did come with keyless entry. It was not standard equipment.
Dodge dealer is likely your only bet
