A signal will be heard indicating reset. After the 21st restart of the vehicle, the "TIME FOR SERVICE" message will be cancelled.

There are 3 stages locate the obd plug and find pin 8 then turn ignition to pos 2 with a fused wire ( a piece of wire with a fuse in it) ground pin 8 for 4-5 seconds turn ignition off repeat this procedure 2 more times but for 8-12 seconds and then the service indicator will be reset.

Press the trip count reset button and put your foot on the brake at the same time, when engine is switched off. Wait 12 seconds and turn ignition on. that should do the trick. it worked for me on my Vectra 2.2 auto petrol and it also worked for my son on his 2.2 auto desiel .
Hey Carol==Press the trip/oil reset button on the dash for about 12 seconds. When the light flashes, it is reset. GoodluckJoe turn on and off the igition switch three time's at third time leave no this should do it. If you turn the ignition to the on position and tap the gas three times quickly it should turn the light off.

Just push in the clock adjuster and start engine hold down for 12 seconds it will clear

To reset the security light on an Oldsmobile vehicle, first the driver must turn the key to the "on" position, without starting the engine.
