You can not rest the light it will shut off only when the problem is located and fixed the most common problem for these models is that the fuse will blow due to over heating if that is not bad then it is the wheel hub sensor it will go bad on either of the front wheels they were only equiped with frront wheel ABS as with most GMC front FWD vehichles so.......
1. Check the fuse if blown change it.
2. Check the wire harness going to the hubs.
3. Remove the rotor & caliper and look at the acceluration wheel on the ABS assembly, If damaged replace.
4.Last if all is good on that front remove your power brake booster (ONLY IF THERE IS EVIDENCE OF LOSE OF BRAKE FLUID FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER) and check the vaccum and for leaking within the boosters housing.
5. hopefully that will fix it

There are actually two oxygen sensors on a 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette. There is one located in the exhaust system just before the catalytic converter. There is also another oxygen sensor in the air intake tube leading from the air filter.
Follow the top radiator hose down to the engine. It is in the water outlet.

GM vehicles are not equipped with a fuel pump inertia switch.
