press info botton until you come upon "oil life" then press and hold the reset button for about 5 seconds
Turn on the ignition but do not start vehicle. Your engine and oil light will come on. Press on the accelerator three times and hold it down until oil light disappears. You have reset the oil life indicator.
A = Change oil1= Rotate tires To reset this turn the ignition switch to the ON position. 2. Press the Select/Reset knob until the engine oil life indicator is displayed. 3. Press the Select/Reset knob for about 10 seconds. The engine oil life indicator and the maintenance item code(s) will blink. 4. Press the Select/Reset knob for more than 5 seconds. I have a 2007 and I have to push the trip button until the oil life indicator shows. Once it does I have to push and hold the button until it says reset.
Turn ignition on,need not running.Hold the reset button in until oil life xxx% blinking ,let go the button.Then hold it in again until it shows oil life 100%.
Page 352 of the Owner's Manual, in the section called "Maintenance Minder" it says: 1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. 2. 2007-2010Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).Display the OIL LIFE REMAINING on the DIC (i) button. If the vehicle does not have DIC buttons, the vehicle must be in P (Park) to access this display.Press and hold the SET/RESET (check mark) button on the DIC, or the trip odometer reset stem if the vehicle does not have DIC buttons for more than 5 seconds. The oil life will change to 100%.Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
Don't know if this works in a 99' but I have a 97'. You have reset the "oil life remaining" readout and this will reset "change oil" indicator. Scroll thru your various readouts (rpm's, water temp, battery volts, etc.) till you see it and then just press reset. Hope this works for you.

The service indicator light, in your Mercedes ML 270, can be reset by holding in the engine oil life button. The engine oil life will go to 100 percent. The service indicator light should go off.
