Check on the right trunk hinge. I have an 03 model and it a 5 letter combination on a small white tag on the hinge.
this is usually caused by having a burnt out light bulb somewhere in the system.
My information does not list it as having a timing belt but lists it as having a chain. Look in your owner's manual or call your local Mercury dealer to verify this.
