It depends on which password you mean. If it is your CMOS password, just take the battery out. If it is a Windows network password, use escape to go around it. If it is a Windows user password, log in as Administrator if you have to (no password if you never set one for it) and run a password recovery program or change the password for the user in question. If it is software, it depends on the program. If it is a website, then have them to reset it or send it to your email.

You are unable to do this. If you do now know the password to a computer user account then you are unable to change it and log in. You can only change it if you are logged onto either that account or the computers local administrator account. This is for security reasons, if anyone could do this then why bother having a password to begin with.

Here are 2 options to change lost administrator password without learning it. Hope they can work for you!

Option 1: If you can log on your laptop with an administrator account, you can change the password following the steps:

1. Right-click Computer to select Manage.

2. In the coming Local Users and Groups screen, double-click Local Users and Groups, and then click Users.

3. Right-click the account that you need to reset the password for, and then click Set Password.

4. Type and confirm the new password.

Note: you can also go to Local Users and Groups screen by clicking Start button and inputting lusrmgr.msc into the Search box.

Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type \Administrator\ (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.

Now you can reset your account password from \Control Panel - User Accounts\.

Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

If you have another administrator account,you can use this account to remove the administrator password.

You can also use the default Administrator account that is built into Windows vista.

First you need to boot the system into Safe Mode.

1.Restart your system.

2.When you see the blue Dell globe or screen, press the ( F8 ) key about 3 times a second.

3.You should get the Windows startup menu. Use the (Up or Down) arrow keys to highlight (SafeMode)

4.Press (Enter) on (Safe Mode), then press (Enter) on (Windows vista).

5.The system should boot to Safe Mode.

Once you are at the Account Log on Screen, click on the icon

for the user account with administrator rights, or click on the icon

for the administrators account.

Note: For Home the Administrator account isn't normally shown & in Safe Mode you have to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys twice to show.

For PRO you can do this in normal mode

When the system has booted to the desktop, use the following steps to change the accounts password.

1.Click Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools.

2.Click Computer Management.

3.Double click Local Users and Groups, double click the folder Users.

4.Right click on the account name that is locked out, and click on Set Password.

5.You may get a warning message about changing the password, simply click proceed.

6.Leave the New Password box blank, also leave the Confirm Password box blank.

7.Click OK, and OK again.

8.Then close all Windows, reboot the system and try to log in

well u go to start then go to my computer or computer then on the top left it says

documents or well thats whats on my thing then it says ur type of computer mine is dell then it says important needs. so u click that and somewhere it says passwords and then itshows u all passwords to stuff. so click on password to computer and itt will show u. finaly u go to start again click on a picture in the top right then it says change password click on that and fill what eve out. i wish u good luck

Use your hint or if it's a iMac, go to someone else's user and than change your password.

Usually, there is an option to email the password, use that. If you do not remember your email, you can forget about that account which you are trying to get in.
