obviously this is a very annoying problem with Jeep commanders. I've read other stories whereby you might need to purchase a reset module. My questions is, "Is this a money making scheme?" I'm a LITTLE weary of taking my Jeep to the dealers, paying them, and no results. My light stays on all the time and I tried the ignition reset idea with no results. My big question is, "Will the airbag deploy for no reason at all. If so, this can be a very expensive experience.
The airbag light stays on when the computer detects a malfunction in the system. You have to have the system checked with a scan tool to know the code/codes and possible causes. When the cause of the code has been repaired, the light will reset itself.

There is not a reset on any of the airbag components. If the light is on, there is a code , and a problem that needs repaired.
The light is on because there is a problem with the SRS. This is not a DIY repair. After the problem is repaired by a professional they will reset the light.
