Turn the ignition on but don't start the car, press the accelerator rapidly 3 times in less than 5 seconds, if you do it correctly, the change oil light will be reset, if it does not work, try it again until it does. I have used this on both of my wife's lumina's (both a '98, and a 2000) as well as my '96 Caprice.
The easiest way to reset the ABS light in a 1992 Chevy Lumina is to disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes. When it is reconnected, the light should be reset.
There is no battery reset.
i unhooked the battery...(both terminals)

Turn ignition on but do not start engine, depress accelerator to the floor three times within 5 seconds, oil change light should flash 5 times, oil change light is reset if you did this correctly.
There is no reset, the there is a problem with something the computer is coding for a reason. If you are thinking it is an "idiot" light there is no such thing. Have the engine trouble tested at your local auto parts this can usually determine the problem.
Per the owners manual, turn the ignition key to the RUN position (but don't start the engine) fully push and release the accelerator pedal three times within 5 seconds. If the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes 2 times, the system is reset. If the light comes back on and stays on, repeat the reset process.
