Take your car to MB dealer and they will reset it for you ....simple I think the person was wondering how you reset the check engine light yourself. Obviously, everything can be fixed by taking it to a MB dealer. I imagine that is not at all what they were looking for. All you have to do is to pull the EFI fuse and then put it back in. This will reset the system. That is much more simple.
put keys in ignition position 2, turn steering wheel full left then full right and back to centre and warning lights will be reset.....i had to do mine after changing battery!! mortz
shut off the speedtronic limiter with the button at the end of the cruise control stalk
I hope you have better luck than I. I went to Advance Auto Parts, and had one of their techs to run the code on the computer. It was a "Secondary Air Injection Malfunction." In the SLK 230, secondary air is pulled off the supercharger, which in my case cost $3100 . There ARE many more codes, including a faulty gas cap which will trigger a "Check engine" light. I wish you well, and hope your code is a cheap fix. The dealer said mine was probably the worst one to have.

My 99 c230 check engine light came on and I finally got a code reader to read the fault codes. Basically the check engine lights usually means something is wrong with the emissions control system. Mine was a mass airflow sensor. Once it was replaced I drove the car 25 miles, stopped and restarted a few times and the check engine light cleared. The MAF is available on line. Usually from 45 to 270 bucks, Over 450 at a MBZ dealer. The MAF is in a plastic tube between the air filter and the fuel injector trhrottle body. Not very difficult to remove/replace.AnswerWell, I don't know how much my Chevy has in common with your Mercedes - but My check engine light kept going on and luckily I took it to an honest mechanic... He only charged me $50 to change the gas cap... Yes, that's all that was wrong and it registered as an "emissions control system error". He charged me for the diagnostic and doing a basic check on the car. A dishonest mechanic could have soaked me for a lot more. There's a reason the mechanics call them "idiot" lights.
the engine size for Mercedes its always the number in this case its 2.3
The labor cost for replacing the 350 engine is around $230.
