First, you need to fix what's wrong and making it come on.
If you've cleared the problem, disconnect the negative (-) post of the battery. Turn the headlight switch on, then off, then after about 15 minutes, re-connect the battery. If the problem has not been fixed, the light will come back on. If the problem WAS fixed, it will not... until something else needs attention.
