How do you reset the settings to zero you just changed your oil but you want to reset the milage to service on 2001 Mercedes Benz c240?
See your manual for the Flexible Service Schedule rest. It
changes in some vehicles but it's something like:
Turn the key to position 2.
Press the O (mileage reset) button twice.
Turn key to off.
Press and hold the O button while turning the key to position 2.
After about 10 seconds it resets.
Well....are you sure that you did the procedure correct? usually if it says not confirmed the process was not performed correct. with all the doors closed and the i.c. at the milage screen, turn key to position 1 and press the "R" reset button 3 times fast. this will access the service menu where you can then re-set the counter/service. Just selected "full service" and confirm, hope that helps!
You Can Get a HPI check which is easy to do, it's all over the web, it will cost about £20.00. It will tell you what the milage of a car was the last time it was serviced. That way if the milage of the service was 20,000, and the owner said it's 16,000 , you know that the milage has been tampered with.
Press the milage reset button in the instrument cluster about 10 seconds with the key to on position, until "service" appears, then change selection with a sigle pushuntil "engine oil" appears. Keep pushing the "reset " ask yes? and that's all. Next oil change after 15000 mi appears on the idrive "service"menu.Beware, not to reset another function, there is no way to restore a reseted item.
if your milage is at or over 60,000 your belt should be replaced. The water pump as a norm is not regulated by milage and may give continual service indefinatly, however the 70.00 price tag over the 600.00 labor to replace(and seeing as how for the most part the water pump forgoes the timing belt and all say if replaceing the water pump definitely replace the T. belt)I'd recommend doing both and resting assured.
I hate ricers with a passion, but the easiest car to repair, is probably a Honda or a Toyota... I love my American V8's and the thunder of my enormous engine, but for upkeep, easy inspection. Get a Prius, Accord, or Civic. All get great gas milage, and they usually have good service plans. Chevy Cobalts are also extremely good for service and Gas milage. Remember, buy American =D
Your highlander has 90000 miles its gas milage recently went down b4 it gave 20mpg city 27 mpg hway transmission fluid changed belts not changed oil is changed as pre requires any coments?
Same asnwer I gave yesterday: Lots of possibilities(?): What is your gas mileage now? How "recently" was the service done ? Could the transmission now be slipping? Did they refill the transmission ALL the way up to the full mark on the dipstick? Do your fuel injectors need cleaning? If the dealer did the 90K serivce I'd take it back and ask them.
How often do you need to change suspension parts Should they be changed at a certain point for safety or only if something goes wrong?
2004 Toyota Highlander limited its got 90000 miles recently changed all 4 tires and transmission fluid its gas milage is gone low can any one comment on this?
Lots of possibilities(?): What mileage did you used to get? What is your mileage now? How "recently" was the service? Could the transmission now be slipping? turn the key to position '2'. use the steering wheel button to scroll though the menu until you reach the milage screen. then press the up/down arrows to find the flex service screen. Push and hold the R button on the right side of the instrument cluster, it will then ask you if you want to reset the service, release and push and hold again to reset.
How do you roll back an odometer in a 1975 Pontiac Catalina so the Instrument panel cluster an be changed and the new panel reads the correct milage of the old panel?
Is it really necessary to change the gear and axle oil in a Jeep Grand Cherokee The existing oil seems okay?
Your 99 olds intrigue burns a lot of gas what is the cause and how many miles per gallon should you be getting?
You might be driving too aggressive. If your service engine ligh is on have your vehicle serviced. you might need a long overdue tune up. When I changed my worn out spark plugs it increased my gas milage by about 1.5 mpg, now i get about 22mpg in a highway /city mix and about 25mpg mostly highway but still some city miles. my engine is a 3.5 L dohc.
Turn the ignition key till the lights come up on the dashboard (don't start the engine) now press down on the millage reset button in the dashboard - count for about 15secs or so and you should notice the flashing spanner has disappeared and the milage count seems to have turned to 20000 - thats it release your hold from the button and either turn the key to full ignition to turn the engine on…
